Contractor Search limits collection to operating the directory and its request paths.

What data is collected

• Pageview and event analytics, including guide clicks, tool usage, and next-step route clicks
• Contact details, project details, and listing identifiers submitted through homeowner contact forms
• Business and claimant details, evidence, notes, and correction details submitted through listing claim or correction forms
• A one-way hash derived from an IP address on abuse-sensitive submissions; the raw address is not stored in those records
• Information voluntarily included in email to the site contact address

Local planning-tool data

The bid-comparison worksheet stores its working data in your browser's local storage. Contractor Search does not receive that worksheet data unless you choose to send or export it yourself. Clearing the tool or your browser storage removes that local copy.

What is not collected here

• No account password or member profile
• No payment-card data on Contractor Search; any paid transaction offered by a separately linked service is governed by that service's own terms and privacy notice

How data is used and shared

Analytics is used for site improvement and performance measurement. Request data is used to review a claim or correction, respond to a submission, prevent abuse, and operate the requested contact path. Transactional email may be delivered through an email service provider. A homeowner contact request is stored for operator follow-up; submission does not guarantee delivery to or a response from the listed contractor.

Retention and requests

Records are retained only as long as reasonably needed to operate, audit, secure, and improve these paths. To ask about access, correction, or deletion of voluntarily submitted personal information, contact the address below and identify the relevant request.
